The Journey of VanBuren Payne and Paintings by Belinda Wilson

Reception: June 29, 2008, 2pm - 5pm

VanBuren Payne is a representational artist who works in several mediums. His portraits, landscapes, watercolors, sketches and drawings capture the essence of his various subjects. Mr. Payne has exhibited widely, most recently at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and he currently teaches at the Crozer Library in Chester, PA and at several senior citizen centers in the surrounding area. The museum will present a mini-retrospective of his work in two galleries.

Also on exhibit will be Paintings by Belinda Wilson, a prolific self-taught artist with a natural gift for creativity. She sees life through her art, and enjoys interpreting everyday scenes in vibrant, swirling colors. Her paintings express her joy for life in watercolors and oils. In addition, the artist is an aspiring poet, videographer and writer.

Pierre Hollingsworth was the former Fire Captain and President of the NAACP and his wife, Soundra, was widely known for her gospel television program and good works.

Ms. Usry-Hollingsworth’s recently discovered artwork will be exhibited along with the paintings of Carol Cuyjet and the mosaics of Larry B. Joseph from March 15 to June 14, 2008.
